CS2 match API vs scraping

Compare a dedicated CS2 match data API (played and upcoming matches, per-map scores and player box scores, teams, events, maps, players, and countries) with DIY HTML scrapers and thin marketplace calendars. Free API key to start.

What GGScore is

GGScore is a Counter-Strike 2–only REST API. You send an X-API-Key and get paginated JSON for played and upcoming matches, per-map scores and player box scores, teams, events, maps, players, and countries. CS2 only — not Dota, LoL, or PUBG.

vs maintaining your own scraper

Scraping match HTML works until the markup changes, the origin rate-limits you, or you need pagination, images, and player rows in a stable schema. An API trades that ops work for a daily request quota and documented JSON.

Use a scraper if you need a field we do not store yet (for example a live per-round kill feed). Use GGScore if you need results, fixtures, maps, teams, events, and per-map box scores without running a crawl fleet.

vs thin CS2 calendars on API marketplaces

Generic “CS2 matches” listings on marketplaces (including RapidAPI) often stop at upcoming and played scorelines. GGScore is a dedicated CS2 product: per-map games, player K/D/A on those maps, team/event/map catalogs, a cabinet for keys and usage, and a free tier on ggscore.net. We also publish the same public OpenAPI for RapidAPI consumers.

vs enterprise multi-game feeds

Large aggregators sell live timelines, odds-adjacent latency, and many titles. That is a different product and price. GGScore stays CS2-specialized and affordable: calendars, results, and map box scores. Live round-by-round push is on the public roadmap, not in the current REST payloads.
